Our dedicated surgical theatre is equipped to the standard our surgical caseload demands. The centrepiece is the Stinger low-flow heated anaesthetic system โ a circuit that delivers anaesthetic gas at low flow rates, reducing waste, improving patient stability, and maintaining body temperature throughout the procedure. This is the kind of system you find in referral centres, not typically in general practice.
Every anaesthetic is managed by an experienced registered veterinary nurse (RVN) whose sole focus throughout the procedure is the patient โ not assisting the surgeon. This dedicated anaesthetic nursing role is not universal in general practice, and it matters. Our RVNs are trained in multimodal analgesia and work alongside the vet to ensure your pet is comfortable before, during, and after surgery.
Patient warming is maintained using a Bear Hugger warming system, which circulates warm air around the patient throughout the procedure. Hypothermia during anaesthesia is a real risk, particularly in smaller patients โ we take it seriously.
The theatre is managed to the highest standards of sterility and infection control. Procedures and dental work are never carried out in the same space simultaneously.
