A note on "unlimited consultations"
Some veterinary health plans advertise unlimited consultations — but exclude appointments for regular injections, ongoing treatments or specific conditions. Ours are genuinely unlimited, with no exceptions. If your pet comes in monthly for an injection, those appointments are included. If they need to be seen ten times in a month, they are included. We like things to be simple and clear — no small print, no surprises.

Member story
Oakley
10 year old Golden Retriever · Spondylosis, degenerative joint disease & arthritis
£2,928
Total saved this year

Gorgeous Oakley is a 10 year old working-line Golden Retriever, diagnosed with spondylosis — degenerative joint disease of the spine — at a young age, and arthritis in several other joints as he's got older. Despite his conditions, he has remained an incredibly fit and active dog.

His owners joined the Pet Wellness Plan knowing he would need regular vet attention and tick protection over the warmer months, and wanting to explore acupuncture and hydrotherapy. What they couldn't predict was an infected paw requiring very frequent treatment, or a fractured tooth — but the plan meant none of that created financial anxiety.

Oakley also had stem cell therapy this year — and by saving so much through the PWP on his routine care, his owners had more funds available to invest in treatments that genuinely improve his quality of life.

💡 The insurance angle: Although Oakley's owners have pet insurance, like many older pets their policy has a 20% co-payment. Because so much of his routine care is covered by the PWP, their co-payments are significantly lower — and more of the insurance "pot" is preserved for his complex ongoing condition and anything unexpected.

Purdie
12½ year old cat · Arthritis & hyperthyroidism (diagnosed through PWP screening)
£757
Total saved this year

Purdie is a gorgeous 12½ year old cat and close neighbour of the practice. We diagnosed her with arthritis — something that affects around 80% of cats over 10 years old — and prescribed a monthly injection to keep her comfortable.

Her owner joined the Pet Wellness Plan, which means all her monthly injection appointments are included with no additional charge. We also apply her flea, tick and worm treatment at those appointments — removing the stress of trying to do it at home.

Most significantly: the routine blood screening included in the senior plan for cats over 10 years old revealed that Purdie had hyperthyroidism. If left untreated, this condition can cause severe progressive organ damage, heart disease, high blood pressure and blindness. Because we caught it early, Purdie is now comfortable, healthy and closely monitored.

Purdie's story is a perfect example of why we include health screening for senior pets — not as an upsell, but because early detection genuinely changes outcomes.

Always check the terms and conditions of any veterinary health plan
The Veterinary Wellness Centre Pet Wellness Plan includes completely unlimited consultations — we like things to be simple and clear. Some other veterinary health plans advertise "unlimited consultations" but don't include appointments for regular injections, ongoing treatments or certain conditions. Ours do. No exceptions, no small print.

Common questions

Pet Wellness Plan questions

Is the Pet Wellness Plan pet insurance?

No — the plan is a preventative healthcare membership, not an insurance policy. It covers routine and essential care such as consultations, vaccinations and parasite protection. It does not cover treatment for illness, injury or emergencies, so it works best alongside pet insurance rather than instead of it.

How much does the plan cost?

The plan costs £30 per month, per pet, collected by monthly Direct Debit. It is a 12-month rolling plan, and member prices on selected treatments are shown on our prices page.

What is included in the plan?

Unlimited routine GP appointments with our vets and nurses, all core vaccinations (including kennel cough for dogs and FeLV for cats), risk-based flea, tick and worm control, faecal worm egg counts, titre testing when advised by our veterinary team, and direct insurance claims processing where your provider allows.

Which pets can join?

Dogs, cats and rabbits registered with The Veterinary Wellness Centre. Each pet is enrolled on their own plan, and a health assessment may be required before enrolment.

Can I cancel the plan?

You can cancel in writing at any time. Because the plan spreads a year of care across 12 payments, if you cancel before the end of a 12-month term you will be invoiced for the difference between the standard value of services already used and the payments you have made so far.

Do members get help with insurance claims?

Yes — direct insurance claims processing is included for plan members where your insurer allows, so payment can come to us directly from your insurer.

The full detail is in the Pet Wellness Plan Terms & Conditions.
